Your 7 Days to Die server includes several settings that control how it appears in the public server list. Adjusting these helps you customise your server’s identity and communicate useful information to potential players.
The following settings can be found via the Game Config > Server Config file > </>Raw.

The ServerName property determines how your server appears in both the in-game server browser and the Steam server list.
You can set this to any name you like - it’s a great way to make your server stand out!
The ServerDescription property lets you share key information about your server. This text appears when players click on your server in the browser, so it’s a good place to include details like your community rules, theme, or playstyle.
Use the ServerWebsiteURL property to add a clickable link under your server description. This is perfect for directing players to your ChipHead community page, Discord, or website.

The ServerPassword property allows you to protect your server with a password, ensuring only invited players can join.
If you’d like to learn more about keeping your server private, check out our guide on Making Your 7 Days to Die Server Private.
This property displays a confirmation message box before a player loads into your world. It can be used to show server rules, welcome notes, or disclaimers. Players must then choose whether to Continue or Leave before entering the server.
