DayZ offers a huge selection of community-made mods that can enhance gameplay, add new features, or completely change how the game feels. Installing these mods on your server is straightforward and allows you to create a customized DayZ experience.

Installing Mods on Your DayZ Server

You can install mods by copying them from your DayZ client and uploading them to your server.

  1. Launch DayZ and open the MODS tab.

  2. You can open Steam Workshop & “Subscribe” to a mod or upload a Local Mod

  3. Click on the highlighted Menu and select “Open folder in Windows Explorer”

    Copy all the mods you want to use and paste them into a new folder on your desktop for easy access.

    If a mod’s name contains spaces, replace them with dashes before uploading.
  4. Once finished Zip your created folder:

  5. Log in to the ChipHead Control Panel.

  6. Stop your server.

  7. Go to the Files tab.

  8. Upload your Zipped file using either the “Panel UI” or “FileZilla” method

    If you are loading a lot of mods please use the FileZilla Method.
    1. Select your Uploaded folder and “Unarchive” it

  9. For each mod, open its folder and locate the Keys folder

  10. Move the .bikey file found inside to the keys folder in your server’s root directory

  11. Navigate to “Startup”

  12. Find the “Additional Mods” Field

    • Separate each mod in the list using a semicolon ;.

      Make sure to save your changes.
  13. Start your server.
