Counter-Strike: Source server admins have access to powerful tools that allow them to manage players directly in-game. Among these are the ability to kick or ban disruptive users, helping maintain a fun and fair gameplay environment for everyone.
Once you’re connected to your server, you can access the built-in admin menu to manage players easily:
Open the console by pressing the ` key.
Type !admin and press Enter to open the admin menu.
Navigate to Player Commands, then choose the option to Kick or Ban a player as needed.
Admins with the correct permission flags can also use manual commands to remove or manage players.
Connect to your server.
Open the console by pressing the ~ key.
Enter one of the following commands:
sm_kick <#userid or name> [reason] | Kicks the selected player from the server. |
sm_ban <#userid or name> <minutes or 0> [reason] | Bans the selected player for a set time (0 = permanent). |
sm_unban <steamid or ip> | Unbans a previously banned player. |
Alternatively, these commands can also be entered through the Console tab in your ChipHead Panel.
That’s it! Knowing how to kick and ban players gives you the control needed to maintain order on your Counter-Strike: Source server. Be sure to set clear rules and take action only when necessary to keep your community running smoothly.
