Adding An Admin To Your Don't Starve Together Server

Summary

Granting admin permissions in Don’t Starve Together allows players to perform important moderation tasks, such as kicking or banning players and using special admin commands to manage the server.

Note:
If your server was activated using your Cluster Token, your account will automatically be set as an admin.

How to Find Your Klei User ID

Each player has a unique Klei User ID, which is required to grant admin access.

1. Launch Don’t Starve Together.

2. Click the Account Icon on the main menu to open the Steam Overlay.

3. In the overlay, look under User Info to find your Klei User ID.

Players can share their Klei User ID with you so you can add them to your admin list.

How to Give Admin Permissions to Players

1. Log in to your ChipHead Panel and stop your server.

   

2. Stop your server.

   

3. Go to the Files tab & Navigate to: home/container/DoNotStarveTogether/config/server

   

4. Create a new file named adminlist.txt (if it doesn’t already exist).

5. Edit the file and add each player’s Klei User ID, one per line.

6. Save your changes.

7. Start your server.

   

Once restarted, those players will have admin permissions on your Don’t Starve Together server.
