Fixing the FTP: 530 Authentication Failed Error

Information on 530 error

If you see a 530 Authentication Failed error while trying to access your server files with an FTP client like FileZilla, it usually means your username or password is incorrect.

How to Fix It:

  • Double-check your username:

    • Found in the ChipHead Panel under Files > SFTP Connect.

    • Enter it exactly as shown, including the numbers at the end (each server has a unique username).

  • Verify your password:

    • Your FTP password is the same as your Server Control Panel password.

  • Check for extra spaces:

    • Make sure there are no spaces before or after your username or password. If copy-paste isn’t working, try typing them manually.

  • Reset your password:

    • If you’re still stuck, reset your Server Control Panel password and try again.

  • Use the right fields:

    • Enter the details into the correct login fields in FileZilla.
