Common Palworld Server Issues & FixesAs Palworld is still in early access, some issues may occur for both players and server owners.
This guide summarizes the most common problems, provides context, and offers practical solutions.
Keep in mind that most of these issues will likely be fixed by the developers over time.
Stay updated by following official Palworld channels, such as their Discord server, for patch notes and news.
Palworld Server Lag and Memory LeaksServer lag is currently very common in Palworld dedicated servers.
This is caused by poor CPU and memory optimization, which is expected during early access.
The developers are aware of this issue and are actively improving performance in future patches.
If your server is lagging or using excessive memory, try these solutions:
1. Restart your server regularly.
- Memory leaks cause RAM usage to increase over time.
- Schedule automatic restarts every 2–3 hours to keep performance stable.
2. Upgrade your server specifications.
- ChipHead offers CPU and RAM upgrade packages.
- While this helps, it’s not a permanent fix - memory leaks will still accumulate over time.
3. Contact the ChipHead support team.
- Sometimes the node your server runs on might be under heavy load.
- Our support team can assist with node transfers or investigate any unusual lag behaviour.
Server Not Found on the Server ListA very common issue is that servers don’t appear in the in-game community list.
This happens because the list:
Has poor filtering options, and only shows about 200 entries at a time.
For now, we recommend ignoring the in-game list entirely and instead using direct connect.
See: “How to Join Your Palworld Server” for direct connect steps.
Connecting to Password-Protected ServersIf your Palworld server is private, it requires a password to join.
- When connecting, make sure to tick "Enter password" before clicking Connect.
- If you skip this, you’ll be disconnected with the message: "No password has been entered".
See: “How to give your Palworld server a password” for direct connect steps.
Character Data Wiped When Transferring WorldsWhen uploading a local world to your dedicated server, the host player’s character data is wiped.
This happens because the server takes over as the host character.
Unfortunately, there’s no easy fix for this issue yet.
Recommended Workaround:1. Before uploading your world, log in as the host player.
2. Store all items, Pals, and equipment in world storage.
3. After transfer, those stored assets will remain accessible in the world.
